Only the <a href=\"https:\/\/runge-in-wolgast.de\/en\/terms-silhouette-competition\/\" hreflang=\"de\">German version<\/a> is legally binding.<\/em><\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>As of: September 1, 2026<\/strong><\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1 \u00b7 Organizer<\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The organizer of the \u201cAus Papier Welten\u201d (Worlds of Paper) silhouette competition is Wolgaster Kulturgesellschaft gGmbH, Kronwiekstra\u00dfe 3, 17438 Wolgast, represented by Managing Director David Adler. The competition is part of Rungesommer 2027, celebrating the 250th birthday of Philipp Otto Runge. The partner organization is Jugendkunstschule Greifswald \/ KunstWerkst\u00e4tten.   <\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2 \u00b7 Eligibility<\/h2><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Participation is open to all residents of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern\u2014children, youth, adults, artists, and seniors, regardless of experience level.<\/li><li>Participation is free of charge. No fees will be incurred. <\/li><li>Participants under the age of 18 require the consent of a legal guardian. This will be requested in the entry form. <\/li><li>Jury members and employees of the organizer are excluded from the selection process.<\/li><\/ul><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3 \u00b7 The Work<\/h2><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Format A4 (210 \u00d7 297 mm).<\/li><li>Pure paper work\u2014cut, not painted, printed, or collaged.<\/li><li>One motif, no series. One entry per person. <\/li><li>The work must be created by the participant and must not infringe upon the rights of third parties.<\/li><li>Works that violate applicable law or contain offensive content will not be considered.<\/li><\/ul><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4 \u00b7 Submission Process<\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Submissions must consist of a photo or scan of the work as a JPG or PDF, with a maximum file size of 15 MB. There are two ways to enter: via the form on the competition page or by email to <a href=\"mailto:papierwelten@runge-in-wolgast.de\">papierwelten@runge-in-wolgast.de<\/a> including name, age, place of residence, and the title of the work in the body of the email. <\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Submissions by mail are not intended. The original will only be requested if a work has been selected for the exhibition. <\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5 \u00b7 Submission Deadline<\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Submissions are accepted starting September 1, 2026. The deadline for entries is January 31, 2027. The date of receipt by the organizer is decisive.  <\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6 \u00b7 Age Categories<\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The age on January 31, 2027, is decisive. Assignment is based on the date of birth provided. <\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>A \u00b7 Little Masters<\/strong> \u2014 up to 5 years old<\/li><li><strong>B \u00b7 Early Bloomers<\/strong> \u2014 elementary school, 6\u201310 years old<\/li><li><strong>C \u00b7 Explorers<\/strong> \u2014 lower secondary, 11\u201314 years old<\/li><li><strong>D \u00b7 Creators<\/strong> \u2014 upper secondary \/ apprentices, 15\u201319 years old<\/li><li><strong>E \u00b7 Open \/ Adults<\/strong> \u2014 20\u201359 years old<\/li><li><strong>F \u00b7 Late Harvest \/ Life&#8217;s Work<\/strong> \u2014 generation 60+<\/li><\/ul><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">7 \u00b7 Jury and Selection<\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The jury consists of Henning Wagenbreth, Sophia Martineck, Stefanie Riech, and Sultan Virk. They will meet on February 18, 2027, for the evaluation day to select the works for the exhibition. The jury&#8217;s decision is final and will not be justified individually. There is no legal entitlement to inclusion in the exhibition.   <\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">8 \u00b7 Notification and Originals<\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All selected participants will be notified after February 18, 2027, via the email address provided and will be asked to submit their original work. The originals are required for the exhibition and will be returned after the exhibition ends. <\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Originals can be picked up after the end of the exhibition at the Rungehaus Wolgast or at the Jugendkunstschule Greifswald. We will inform the selected participants of the exact period in good time via email; it will be at least eight weeks. Those who cannot pick up their work should contact us\u2014we will then return the work and cover the costs. Works that have neither been picked up nor requested after six months cannot be stored permanently; we will contact you once more before this happens.   <\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">9 \u00b7 Exhibition<\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The selected works will be exhibited starting May 8, 2027, at the Rungehaus Wolgast and the Jugendkunstschule Greifswald. The opening will include an award ceremony. <\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One work will be honored in each of the six age categories. The winners will receive a certificate and will be invited to the award ceremony on May 8, 2027. Information regarding further prizes will be provided on this page in due time. There is no entitlement to a cash payout, and prizes are non-transferable.   <\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">10 \u00b7 Handling of Submitted Files<\/h2><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The uploaded files will be used for the administration of the competition: category assignment, review by the jury, and preparation of the exhibition.<\/li><li>They are not publicly accessible online but are stored in a protected area.<\/li><li>Submissions that are not selected will be deleted by May 31, 2027.<\/li><\/ul><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">11 \u00b7 Rights of Use<\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By submitting your entry, you grant the organizer a <strong>simple, non-exclusive, and royalty-free right of use<\/strong> for the submitted image of your work. The copyright remains entirely with you. The right of use is limited to the execution and documentation of this competition, the exhibition at the Rungehaus Wolgast and the Jugendkunstschule Greifswald, as well as reporting on the competition and Rungesommer 2027, including the website runge-in-wolgast.de.  <\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Excluded are: transfer to third parties for their own purposes, advertising for other products or companies, sale of the images, and content-related editing. Only adjustments to size and image cropping are permitted. <\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Publication <strong>on social media<\/strong> and the <strong>mention of your name<\/strong> will only take place with express consent in the form. You can revoke this consent at any time without formal requirements. Without consent, we will display the work without a name.  <\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The right of use is limited until <strong>December 31, 2028<\/strong>\u2014until the completion of the documentation for Rungesommer 2027. After that, we will remove the images from the website and will not use them further. Already printed publications and archival holdings remain unaffected by this, as they cannot be recalled.  <\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">12 \u00b7 Minors<\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Participants who are under 18 at the time of submission require the consent of a legal guardian. The guardian confirms participation and the granting of the rights of use described above in the form and provides their own email address.
